I drive down this road every morning
and it’s only on sunny days
that I see this guy’s 964 Targa

typical.

I just had a nice chat with Peter Bell of P101TV.com. Haven't heard of it? RIght, then, here's the "get a clue" portion of flüssig...

Aside from eating paste and sharpening crayons, most of us can’t remember a damn thing when we were 8 years old…Devon did.

zuffenhausen left us no choice
but to fend for
ourselves

they see fit to pull the nipple away from us
when it no longer seems
that they can benefit
from our slow growth
as custodians of these machines
that have yet to garner the same respect
as the other models.

what other models?

the vintage ones.

oh, like my 20 year old 968?

no, the other ones.

and so it goes
that we have to continue on
wondering

is this part still available?
what about that one?
sorry.

but we still have these available.
it'll cost you, though.

well, we're sorry too.

sorry that you chose to leave us
flat
for the other.
but it's only a matter of time
before we become
the other.

until then
we have passionate minds
who are building a business
around your deficiencies.
Racer's Edge saw to it that
not only do we have a choice
when it comes to upper strut mounts
for later 944s and 968s
at half the cost of original
that's still available
at a small fortune...

it's more versatile.

Jason Burkett
at Paragon Products carries them.

and you know what?

I'd rather give my hard earned
cash
to someone as passionate as him
instead of what is now just a
corporation
concerned with numbers
and a cool image.

the name still means
something
to us.

maybe one day
they'll go back to their roots,
Porsche,
and treat the models
and their owners
that helped keep them buoyant
with the same respect
they give the
other.

it's only a matter of time.

until then...
carry on.

highball!

Peter Schutz left behind a legacy at Porsche. Aside from saving the 911 and declaring it should continue on to infinity, he put a spin on the 944's future by giving a nod to produce a Cabriolet version.

the camaraderie.

If these machines can
claim
anything besides the sheer
pleasure
they provide behind the wheel,
gear knob under palm,

it would be the ability to
cement
relationships that wouldn’t otherwise have
existed
under any other circumstances.

I never thought of Porsches having a bad photographic angle...until I saw the Panamera. look, I'm trying to be an equal opportunity Porsche enthusiast, really I am, but it's kinda like becoming a vegan...it takes time and it doesn't happen overnight. baby steps, that's the way to go about it.

"Oh well, I guess 3 seasons to too much to expect from a track tire."

Not only am I always so happy to hear from Erik, I was tickled pink to see that he's a sensible guy, like me, who uses things to the point where they can no longer be of service. Surely it's the German side of him where frugality is a way of life passed down from generations. I don't have any German in my bloodlines that I know of...but I secretly pretend I do.

Speak that quietly.

did a double take? so did I...
I had to put on my glasses for this one, because I swore my eyes were having a laugh at my expense. They weren't. What I saw was real, though, to the right of the 924 stood an imposter...the RX-7.
