They started out making a 928 Spyder back in 1988 and then again in 1993. Their opus is a W3 Triposto three seater reminiscent of the 1965 Ferrari 365P Berlinetta that uses 964 mechanicals. The brains behind the operation is Dr. Clyde Kwok who manages a small team of craftsmen capable of designing a car and then creating the prototype all in-house.
The Spyder 928 attempts to capture the traditional Porsche Speedster spirit with a modern and lightened body on a 928 chassis and running gear using the 928's original instrument cluster and controls to retain the Porsche pedigree. The car made its debut at the Montreal International Auto Salon in January 1993.
I've gotta hand it to these guys, their creations are very well done and completely carries out the clean look of pre-production Porsche prototypes. It's this look that captures the soul of these Porsches before they're compromised with Federal regulations and safety concerns that enthusiasts fall in love with.
This company should be the yardstick by which all other builders shoul be judged by...very well executed I say.
