story and race shots by Christian Chazalon

Racing a 928 hasn't been easy these days; too old to be competitive in a modern series, too young to be qualified for a classic series, and too few in numbers to organize a monotype serie. So some french enthusiasts decided to create a new serie called GT Classic in which any stock or racing GT produced before 1998 could race in four categories GTC1, GTC2, GTC3, and GTC4 class created specifically for the 928.
The GT Classic Trophy has the same historical significance as many others trophies like Groupe 1, Formula Renault Classic or Formula Ford Historic and takes place in five legendary french circuits like Charade, Dijon-Prennois or Nogaro. Drivers have a full racing weekend with practice on Friday, and two races on Saturday and Sunday.

This year's races started with Dijon on April 4-5, The Historic Castellet on May 2-3, and commences with The Historic Charade on June 20-21, Silverstone on July 25-26, Nogaro Historic Tour on September 5-6, with the Ledenon Historic Tour on October 10-11 ending the series.

2015 Championship's second weekend took place in « Le Castellet », with no less than four 928s that fought bravely on the track, against some fierce rivalry like Dodge Vipers, Porsche 993 GT2 and exotics like TVR Tuscan and MVS Venturi.

Those who are interested racing their 928 should seriously consider this phenomenal opportunity...imagine winning an official trophy with your '28 now that would make history!

I've included a bunch of PDF files below for the event which include flyers, applications, maps, qualifications, and the like. They're in French, but easily translated using any free PDF language converters.
