Ahhh, the old $8995 trick...reeks of a dealer; and it is! But look at the goods. A car like this makes you forget all of the bullshit when dealing with salesmen who don't know shit about this sort of specimen aside from that it's red and it's a Porsche.
What struck me about this little number is the rub-strip delete, it just makes the 928 shape that much more pleasing to the eye. So you can almost forgive the choice of wheels...they're really besides the point with this example. And as you look through all of the exterior images, you'll notice just how unmolested she really is...even the rear silencer has be left alone. This is usually one of the other modifications made that begin detracting from the originality of the thing. Wait until you see the insides...
Look at her. Aside from the missing speaker grille, this old girl is intact and has been really pampered. The seats bear nary a trace of an overweight driver, the shift knob and gaiter as if from new, window switches with the white bits still intact, It even has a period correct Sony pull-out. All of this seems consistent with the low miles, but I have to admit the price is pretty low.
This is at least a $12-14,000 car providing there aren't any surprises in the drive line, or the title because unless she's been hit pretty hard, shifted like an 18-wheeler, or suffering from serious engine maladies, she's being sold a bit short.
Good thing for the buyer, not so good a thing for the those of us already owning such an example waiting for values to climb.
