the regular 924 stopped being imported to the US in 1982. in 1985, production of the "VW" engined 924 stopped to make way for the Porsche engined 924S. what this means is that this car, here on our soil, is a Euro import...and the last year of its kind in the world. only 7500 were made that year alone.
now I'm a seasoned scanner of classifieds for Porsches, but I can't remember if I ever came across a Euro 924...ever. in case you're a bit thick, what I'm trying to tell you is that this is a special car. in fact, the bowing out of the original 924 came with heated windshield washer nozzles, and gradual tinting of the windshield...they also sported a remote control hatch release.
the only drawback? power remained the same since 1975. should that deter you from considering this rare bird? no. not if you realize that you'll be the only one in your Porsche clique to boast having the very last year of the original design.
that should shut up the purists.
